Three generations of PR professionals in Kosovo
39 new diplomants of London Shool of Public Relations
In the region SE Europe more than 1100 students received the international recognized LSPR diplomas
(Pristina, Kosovo, June 22th 2007)
Two generations of London School of Public Relations in Kosovo will today gain international diplomas for successfully finishing the programme “Integrated Approach to Public Relations to 21st century”. 39 participants that visited a 40 hours programme in Pishtina and Ljubljana learned about the foundations of public relations as well as they upgraded their theoretical and practical knowledge on strategic communication. The participants came from National Democratic Institute, agency EGRRA and Ogilvy Kosovo, Government Communication Offices, Pristina International Airport J.S.C., media and nongovernmental institutions. The diplomas were solemnly handed to the new PR professionals by Valon Xhaferi director of Ogilvy Kosova and Maja Rečnik, regional director of LSPR from SPEM Communication Group form Slovenia.
The LSPR programme was established in 1992 in London to fill the gaps in the public relations education. The tutors are experienced PR professionals from United Kingdom, Slovenia, Croatia and Kosovo. Mostly the programme relies on practice and the knowledge can be used immediately in the various fields in every day work. The programme contains modules as planning of communication projects, internal communication, media communication, web communication and new media, media training, crisis and issue management, reputation management and branding, measuring and evaluation of PR programs, event management and others. The LSPR is present in 14 countries with more than 10.000 students. In Kosovo it is organized by Ogilvy Kosovo and SPEM Communication Group which is the owner of the franchize in the region.
Maja Rečnik, LSPR director in the region said: “We are very satisfies with the curiosity and proffesionality of participants in Kosvo. The request of this such education in Kosovo is growing so we expect to do another course in Priština this fall.”
London school of public relations is one of the biggest providers of educational programs in the field of public relations and reputation management. It is acknowledged by National union of Journalists (NUJ), International organization of consultancy agencies for public relations (ICCO), national associations of public relations as Slovene Association for Public Relations (PRSS) and agencies Hill&Knowlton, Porter Novelli Int., Schandwick as one of the possibilities to develop a career in public relations.
