Corporate communications

Modern and proactive corporate or organisational communications encompass many activities at different levels of the organisational hierarchy. Corporate communications were traditionally tied to the organisation’s office for communications, but lately they tend to decentralise for the sake of functionality as the management is more and more aware of the importance of balanced and constructive stakeholders relations, as are employees, users, shareholders, society, governmental and non-governmental organisations…

Due to increasingly important communications their implementation often requires co-operation of diverse experts like lawyers, financiers or marketing professionals. A multidisciplinary approach assists in preparing and implementing long-term and goal directed communicational programs. It also helpful in measuring and evaluating their effects as is in creating an added value for an organisation and its stakeholders.

Regardless of the communicational function’s organisation in a certain organisation (large or small group, in-house or outsourcing, centralised or dispersed…), every single organisation has to be prepared for a wide array of communicational obligations, required for successful marketing.

These obligations include:

  • Forming an organisation’s strategy for communications.
  • Ensuring internal and external communications, supporting management decisions and organisation’s operations.
  • Issue, risk and crisis management.
  • Activities supporting managerial activities (preparing speeches and appearances, video production, interest protection, communications in take-overs…).
  • Managing governmental relations.
  • Media relations.
  • Supporting the marketing strategy.
  • Consumer and customer relations.
  • Managing financial and investor relations.
  • Building alliances, cooperating with different interest groups.
  • Maintaining a high level of cooperation with the local community and the development of social responsibility.
  • Internal communications…
