About education

The knowledge of a public relations professional is the knowledge of a whole organisation. His work is multidisciplinary in nature and the London School of Public Relations (LSPR) follows these demands of the profession.

The tradition of organising the educational programs of LSPR since 1992 and in 18 countries is a guaranty for a wide array of expert knowledge. The lecturers are experienced professionals who present practical cases to the participants of the course. How to organise and manage internal communications in a multinational company? How to write a press release on changes in management? What should the manager say in a television interview? How to denote the company’s 10-year anniversary?

For 3 months 25 colleagues of a generation participate on lectures, workshops and simulations twice weekly. After the final exam and an international diploma in hand our gathering does not end. Personal bonds and networks of knowledge that offer additional momentum for conducting business in the future are created among graduates.

The educational program of the LSPR is very practical. Lecturers, uniting theory and practice, guide the participants from literature to actual implementation of the acquired knowledge to their workplace. Future generations of public relations professionals are being educated on lectures, workshops and simulations. London School of Public Relations graduates are qualified to recognise and effectively solve communication challenges in their organisations.

Organisations operate in an environment full of challenges. For better business performance it’s crucial that they take up an active role in the political and social environment. At this point corporate communications, the leading topic of LSPR’s advanced program CorpPA (Corporate Public Affairs), prevail.

In a one-week course, lecturers from Brussels, London, Zagreb and Slovenia familiarize the participants with trends and backgrounds of corporate communications, (corporate) public affairs, public relations and economic diplomacy. In the 40 hours of the educational program the participants learn to know the occurrences in the global environment, how to keep up with and recognise the variables of the environment that significantly influence the organisation’s performance and how to incorporate them into public relations strategies to raise reputation, the strategic capital of the future. They familiarise themselves with the decision-making process of the European Union and its influence on the companies performance, gain an insight into the world of the diplomacy, search for methods of coexistence with local communities, learn to know how to prevent crisis situations using risk and issue management and learn to use negotiating techniques in communicating with publics to reach a consensus.

In the end the participants are granted an international certificate that attests the knowledge, acquired during the program, designed according to international standards. CorpPA follows the trends and needs for education of experienced communicators, LSPR graduates and managers, who desire knowledge on managing corporate reputation of their organisations.

The curriculum is based on trend analysis in the profession, the educational tenders in the European Union and United States. Furthermore, our partners’ experiences are taken into account, as are the research results on the need for education of the LSPR graduates in Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Monte Negro and Macedonia.

In preparation for the program the counselling agency Interel PR&PA from Brussels cooperated with SPEM Communication Group from Slovenia.

The International Conference on Communication Practice is a unique event of the Public Relations profession. The two-day Conference, organized by the London School of Public Relations (LSPR) in co-operation with the Slovene PR Agencies Association (ZOJS), unites distinguished Slovene and International experts with the attendants on numerous lectures and accompanying events. The Conference offers the participants an insight into modern trends and development of the Public Relations profession. Accordingly the theme and programme are carefully selected and satisfy even the most demanding expectations.

The purpose of the eventful gathering is to expose current trends and all affiliated questions, to assure answers to these questions, but most of all to encourage the attendants into searching additional knowledge on their workplace. Experiences are crucial, and therefore the most interesting lectures that are the ones where experienced and acknowledged lecturers present significant real-life cases.

The event attracts between 150 and 200 communicators and media representatives from the SE and Central Europe every year.

The sixth International Conference on Communication Practice 2008 focuses on the use of new media in public relations and communications, which is revolutionising the PR profession

To get noticed you need more than just a nice figure… we’ll take your measures… choose an appropriate cut, adapt it to your measurements an saw up a breathtaking communication suit… you’ll add some charm and take a Sunday walk on the promenade…

In the beginning of the third century it’s an undisputable fact that a successful organisation requires systematically managed communications and that the management besides the managerial knowledge needs basic knowledge in the fields of communications.

The complex environment and the prevailing ethics of competition demand an overcome of conflicting interests, adaptation and seeking for compromises and an improvement in relations. This is the only way to manage reputation and other key factors of competitiveness. The challenge ahead is can be mastered by an appropriate management of communications in order to achieve a synergy between the organisational goals and expectations of the environment and by developing programs to achieve these goals.

SPEM Communication Group in cooperation with London School of Public Relation developed an internationally acclaimed intensive one-day educational program for the managerial staff, named Management Public Relations. Specially adapted to the target group it satisfies increasingly larger needs for practical knowledge in the fields of communication management.

Management PR programs are designed for higher levels of management and all those employed in the following organisational communications:

  • Media relations.
  • Crisis communications and issue management.
  • Internal communications.
  • Strategic communications in positioning.
